Pontifical North American College

131st Alumni Reunion | Diocese of Orange, Garden Grove, CA

June 21-23, 2022

Dear brothers in the Lord – Alumni of the Pontifical North American College,

As today we officially conclude the season of the Nativity of the Lord with the celebration of the Lord, many of us have been reflecting on the days when we were studying in Rome and the blessings of those days during the times of Advent, the Nativity and the Epiphany: The great Novena at the Church of the Twelve Apostles for the Immaculate Conception; The laying of the wreath at the base of the statue of the Immacolata and the visit of the Holy Father to there when it was possible; Our Lady of Guadalupe in the College or the Casa chapel; The Christmas/Epiphany Fair in the Piazza Navona; and certainly the powerful experience of Midnight Mass with the Holy Father in St. Peter’s Basilica, especially if it was our first (as I remember Midnight Mass back in 1981;) and the “Urbi et Orbi” blessings on Christmas and New Year’s.

Those memories, which in faith bring to the present moment the opportunities and blessings of being able to study and live as seminarians and priests in the Eternal City, to be shared at the annual 131st Alumni Reunion of the Pontifical North American College; which will be held here in the Diocese of Orange from June 21-23, 2022 (Tuesday through Thursday). I am excited to let you know that the June 22 meeting will be held on the campus of Christ Cathedral with a tour of the Cathedral and Mass in the Cathedral at 5:30 p.m. Hotel accommodations will be conveniently located at the nearby DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton, which is only three blocks away. The “Bum Run” will include a visit and tour of the Mission Basilica of San Juan Capistrano. The business meeting and the Theological Lecture (given by Rev. William B. Goldin, STD, CSM 2017, (Diocese of Orange), will be held in the “Cultural Center” on Christ Cathedral Campus. I am grateful for your patience and our alumni as this is now the 3rd time that we are trying to schedule this.

We are all looking forward to welcoming you here on campus for these days of renewal of our faith and commitment to our mission as priests of Our Lord Jesus Christ, which was formed in a significant way by our time together in study and prayer in the Eternal City.

I would ask that make your reservation as soon as possible by filling out and sending in the enclosed form.

A very blessed New Year to all of you! “Ad Multos Annos gloriosque Annos!

Fraternally yours in the Lord,

Most Rev. Kevin W. Vann, J.C.D., D.D.
